HomeTurf is a tournament platform for grassroots and community sports, starting with ultimate frisbee. It brings everything tournament day needs into one app — schedules, live scores, standings, rosters, registration, and Spirit of the Game — so you can leave the spreadsheets, group chats, and clipboards behind.

HomeTurf is free to use right now — for players, captains, and tournament directors. We're working on an optional subscription with extra features for the future. If anything changes, we'll let you know well in advance, and the core experience will stay available.

You can browse the Explore tab and follow along with public tournaments without much setup, but you'll need an account to do anything tied to you — joining a team, submitting scores, registering a team, or running a tournament. Your account keeps your teams, stats, and history in one place across devices.

Yes. One account can do both. If you play in some tournaments and run others, you can switch between the player view and the director view without needing a second login.

HomeTurf works on mobile for everyday use on the sideline. Tournament directors also get a two-column desktop view that's handy for setup and running multiple pitches from a laptop on the day.

We're starting with ultimate frisbee, including its Spirit of the Game scoring. More community sports are on the roadmap — if there's one you'd love to see, tell us.

Open the Explore tab to browse tournaments. From there you can view details, follow a tournament to keep up with it, or start a team registration.

Your team's schedule shows every game with its time, pitch, and opponent, and highlights your next game so you know where to be. If times shift during the day, the schedule updates so you're always looking at the current plan.

Set up your team, then invite players by sharing a QR code or link — they tap it to request to join. As captain, you approve incoming join requests and manage who's on the roster.

Join requests appear in your team's roster management area, where you can approve or decline each one. Approved players are added to the roster and can see the team's schedule and games.

Registration is a quick three-step flow. Once you submit, your team lands in one of three states:

• Pending — the tournament director is still reviewing entries.
• Confirmed — you're in.
• Waitlisted — the tournament is full, and you'll move up if a spot opens.

You can check your status any time from the tournament in the app.

Waitlisted means the tournament reached its team limit when you registered. If a confirmed team drops out or the director adds capacity, waitlisted teams can be moved up. Whether a spot opens is up to the tournament director, so it's worth following the tournament to stay in the loop.

Scores update in real time as games are recorded, and pool standings recalculate automatically — including tiebreaks. Follow a game, team, or tournament to keep an eye on results as they come in, even from a pitch you're not standing next to.

Spirit of the Game is ultimate's tradition of self-officiated sportsmanship. After a game, you submit an SOTG score for your opponent in the app. Tournament directors collect these and release them, and spirit winners are recognized in the final standings.

Your profile keeps your personal stats and tournament history, so you can look back on where you've played and how things went. This builds up automatically as you take part in tournaments through HomeTurf.

Yes. You can follow teams, players, tournaments, and individual live games to keep up with friends, rivals, or events you're interested in — whether or not you're competing.

Creating a tournament starts a guided setup that walks you through it in order: divisions → teams → pools → pitches → schedule. Each step builds on the last, so by the end you have a tournament that's ready to run. You can do setup on mobile or use the two-column desktop view for more room.

No. HomeTurf can auto-generate the schedule and allocate pitches for you. If things shift on the day, it recalculates game times so the schedule stays accurate for everyone following along.

Use check-in to mark teams as present as they arrive. If someone shows up who isn't on a roster, you can add players on the spot so the team is complete and ready to play.

You can track live scores across every pitch from one place, manage game caps, and keep an eye on progress in real time. The desktop view is especially useful when you're running several pitches at once.

When a score is reported but contested, it's flagged for you to review. You can approve the correct result or resolve the dispute, and standings update automatically once it's settled.

Pool standings update automatically as results come in, and HomeTurf applies tiebreak handling for you so seedings are calculated consistently — no manual sorting required.

Yes. After pool play, you can run bracket play through to final standings, all within the same tournament.

HomeTurf collects the Spirit of the Game scores teams submit for their opponents. When you're ready, you release them, and spirit winners appear alongside the final standings at the end of the tournament.

Either works. You can manage everything from mobile on the sideline, or use the two-column desktop view when you want more space — handy for setup and for overseeing multiple pitches. Both stay in sync.
